They had activities planned for their residents, but I think there was a lot of inconsistency in the care . This is her fifth visit there, and I’m very comfortable with the facility, the staff, and the care that they render. They’re trying to please a whole lot of different people with different tastes, and they do a pretty good job of it. There’s something different going on every day.

I especially enjoy the Zoom conference calls and I’m very very happy that this is an option provided on the VAHS website. It would be nice if the rooms had phone service , without having to work with Verizon to establish an account. My mom seems to be very happy and her therapy is progressing nicely. She does wish, however, there were more television stations to choose from. I would like to fill out another review at the end of her stay.

They weren’t smiling because they had to in front of visitors, you saw it in their care of their residents. A simple smile in the nurses voice towards the gentleman I recall watching TV with in asking which team was winning that day put a smile on my face.
I am now home and getting along excellently due in large part to their help. Karl oversees the Team providing exceptional care to the residents of James River Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He began his career with Virginia Health Services as Administrator-in-Training at James River Convalescent in 1988 and opened Northampton Convalescent in 1989 as Administrator.
At this time, she is currently residing there until healed. My mom is in Hampton Health and Rehab for rehab. A couple of the nurses there I’m pissed off about, but there’s one nurse that’s been really, really helpful. I’m not pleased that some of her property was stolen.
My dad’s biggest thing was that he says the food is excellent. My dad was in the nursing care facility part so he wears a diaper. So I would have to blame the nursing staff on that. We like the community itself because what happened was more of a staff issue. He pays $7,200 a month and my dad has long-term insurance which helps with that.
